Monday 1Jul19 - Gearing Up for a Holiday

The first of July. Thursday of this week is Independence Day. I'll be taking a four-day weekend. This may be the weekend to visit New Orleans with my friend Allie. I'm curious how much work I can get done this week since there is so little for me to do. I can certainly hope that Rebecca is done with what she promised to work on over the weekend: bring an external hard drive for me to store data on, and the data itself. The dataset is the same that we will be working with when the project is fully underway, but this set is from the first reduction: i.e. the noise and unwanted sources have been cut out as much as possible. But the first data reduction is useless because Rebecca's code cannot find anything with it. The dataset was returned to a specialist who is reducing it again using a new technique. The first reduction will serve adequately to test and validate my own code.

My day will begin with updating all of my Github repositories. I need to make sure that all online versions of my work are available at my most recent stopping point. Then I'll dig into my code. Rebecca seemed confident that I had accomplished what she wanted from me last week, but I'm not so sure.
